Research Interests

Aquatic Ecology & Invasion Unit (EcoVasion) interests environmental biology of freshwater fishes in fresh and brackish waters, specializing life history traits, invasiveness, impact and risk assessment of non-native freshwater fish and the biological and ecological interactions between native and non-native species. Using mainly fish taxon, we aim to understand causes and consequences of biological invasions by (i) identifying reasons of invasion success, (ii) understanding impact of non-native species on native biota, ecosystem functioning and socio-economic structure, and (iii) developing risk identification and assessment models for non-native/invasive species by using field and experimental studies.
